FAQS

What should I bring to my fitting?
To ensure the best possible fit, please bring the following:
-
Your dress or item to be altered
-
The shoes you plan to wear – This is essential if you need a hem or bustle.
-
Bra, shapewear, or undergarments – If you plan to wear any items that affect the fit (Spanx, a padded bra, etc.), bring them to all fittings and your final pickup.
-
A guest (optional) – You’re welcome to bring one additional adult guest to your fittings or pickup.
-
Water in a sealed container – Please leave other beverages and food in your vehicle.

What is the alterations process like?
-
First Fitting – We’ll discuss what needs to be done, and I’ll pin the dress to mark adjustments. At this appointment, you’ll pay for the alterations, and we’ll schedule your pickup or additional fittings.
-
Additional Fittings – If needed, we’ll refine the fit, making adjustments as necessary.
-
Final Pickup – Your dress will be ready! You’ll try it on to verify the fit, and then take it home.

How long should I expect this to take?
-
Fittings: 45-60 minutes
-
Pickups: Usually 15 minutes
-
Bridal: Typically 2-3 fittings with a final pickup around two weeks before your wedding
-
Prom: Typically 1 fitting and a final pickup, with a 2-3 week turnaround
-
Bridesmaid/MOB/Other Formalwear: Typically 1 fitting and a final pickup, with a 2-3 week turnaround

What if I have less than the usual timeline?
During peak season (March–October), if you’re reaching out to book less than three weeks before your event, please be aware that rush fees may apply. Availability is limited, so contact me as soon as possible to discuss options.

How much will alterations cost?
The cost of alterations depends on several factors, including your dress’s structure, design, and the specific alterations needed. Dresses with beading, lace, or sequins often require additional work, as these details may need to be carefully removed and reapplied during the alteration process.

When you reach out to book, I’ll provide you with an estimated cost range based on what we believe needs to be done. Sales tax is charged on all alterations.

Can you help if my dress is too small?
Yes! However, please allow additional time to source fabric and for multiple fittings to achieve the best possible fit.
